Step by Step Guide to New Mexico’s Health Care Services for Children 

This booklet for families and service coordinators provides a wealth of important information to help families to access and use health care services. It provides information on public, private, Indian and military health insurance programs. There are suggestions on how to get what you need from your health care provider and/or health plan, definition of health care terminology, and basic information about the different kinds of health plans. There is also information on how to how to apply for the different Medicaid programs and comparison of different NM financial assistance programs. Double Rainbow: A Systems Integration Project: A Monograph for Health and Human Services Providers

This monograph summarizes the results of a five-year Maternal and Child Health project which worked to develop a model system for integrating community-based, family-centered services to facilitate the coordination of IDEA Part C early intervention services with managed health care services, particularly Medicaid. The goal was to make it easier for families to access and use health care services for their children with special health care needs. The monograph describes the health care environment in New Mexico, project goals and methods, and most importantly the impact the impact of the project in bringing about system changes at a community and state level. $10.00

The Growing Path 

This illustrated 16-page book gathers together descriptions of traditional American Indian infant stimulation practices that have been shared by grandmothers and mothers. Each infant stimulation practice is presented in two parts. First, the activity is described in terms of its traditional place in Indian culture.
